Average review score:

A unique and invaluable addition to metaphysical studiesAbly translated by Ronald Koetzsch and Anne Riegel from the original Dutch, Anthroposophy And Astrology: The Astronomical Letters Of Elisabeth Vreede is a fascinating collection of monthly subscription "letters" by Elisabeth Vreede, Ph.D. (1879-1943), a close student of Rudolf Steiner. Ms. Vreede's writings look at astronomy and classical astrology through the lens of spiritual science, and also contemplate the role of astrology in modern society. From heavenly bodies to human souls, the unified thoughts of Ms. Vreede make for a most intriguing study, particularly for faithful astrology followers. Anthroposophy And Astrology is a unique and invaluable addition to metaphysical studies reading lists and reference collections.

Antisocial Behavior in School: Strategies and Best Practices
Published in Paperback by Wadsworth Publishing (November, 2003)
Average review score:

Antisocial Behavior in School: Strategies and Best PracticeAwesome Book! Useful, practical and research based ideas for all educators. It doesn't present short term "magic cures," however those really never work anyway. Instead the focus is on long term solutions for prevention & intervention with these tough kids. A must for your professional library (however, start saving those pennies, it is a little pricey).

Architectonic Thought Forms: A Survey of the Art of Paul Laffoley, 1968 - 1999
Published in Paperback by Austin Museum of Art (November, 1999)
Average review score:

an exquisite combination of beauty and occult scienceall those strange occult symbols and cryptic passages you knew nothing about have been transfered to canvas, AND WITH A HIERARCHY OF STRUCTURE AND CORRESPONDENCE, from the kabbalah, western alchemy, lucid dreaming, to dante's inferno, you'll find graphic descriptions of it here, but if you expect to come out smarter after reading this book, (you won't) you'll be more confused than ever, but hey, at least you'll know what questions to ask paul if you ever see him, hehe, anyway if i could own one art book it would be this one, if you're interested in physics or the occult you need this one, i had the pleasure of seeing the works in person at his exhibition in austin texas it was awesome, i just wonder where i can buy the art now with a college students salary?

The Architecture of R. M. Schindler
Published in Hardcover by Harry N Abrams (February, 2001)
Average review score:

This is the one to have. This book is a wonderful retrospective of Schindler's work. Though its easy to slip into hyperbole, this book is a must for the student of one of the last centuries most interesting architects. Schindler's work was overlooked in his day, some say due to not being chosen by Philip Johnson to be included in a very high-profile architectural show. Johnson himself has admitted his error! The book has several different articles on various aspects of Schindler's world, one focusing on his relationship with his wife, as well as presenting drawings, plans, photos of work-sites and social snapshots that are so important given the social nature of Schindler's work. A place to start or a place to refresh your studies. When they put this book together, they hit the nail on the head.

Arctic Diplomacy: Canada and the United States in the Northwest Passage (American University Studies. Series Ix, History, Vol. 188.)
Published in Hardcover by Peter Lang Publishing (September, 1998)
Average review score:

Arctic Diplomacy: Canada and the US in the Northwest PassageThe book provides an excellent overview of the interaction between Canada and the US in the Arctic. Starting with a short preview of Northwest Passage exploration, the author details Canada's identification with the North and why it is psychologically important as a national ideal. She contrasts the psychological importance with the lack of definitive legislation, development and enforcement that would be required to make the ideal into reality. She discusses the difficulty of protecting Canadian sovereignty while cooperating with the US to maintain continental security during and after WWII. She discusses basic international law as it pertains to Northwest Passage diplomacy and gives a good indication of what the two neighbors feel, why they disagree, and how they can still cooperate to achieve common goals. In addition to providing an overview of Northwest Passage diplomacy it offers an interesting look at national identity and how two unequal but inextricably allied nations deal with disagreement. Pretty academic but an easy read with exhaustive footnotes, bibliography and appendices. Appendices include several small maps showing routes and a list of transits. My only complaint is, if you're looking for the one paragraph that explains what the current position of the two governments is regarding the Northwest Passage, it's not intuitive to jump to the bottom of page 149...but getting there is worth the effort!
